Punk Goes Alternative: Stolen Goods Headline a Wednesday Spectacle with support from 2 Litre Superpunk, FateXY, and Blake Trouper
The Chill House had a rare Wednesday show occurrence this week, with local punk legends Stolen Goods taking the headlining slot with support from 2 Litre Superpunk, FateXY, and Blake Trouper. It was a unique and varied lineup that continued a great run of shows at the venue, with the humble turnout of the night making for a pleasant show that was great to be a part of as always.
The crowd was incredibly excited to see 2 Litre Superpunk take the stage, with their infectious sound being well-known, especially as the band has visited the Chill House once before all the way from Calgary.
A gritty underground punk atmosphere was outlined by kindhearted people, social interactions, and an incredibly fun show that was based in the heart of the Chilliwack music community - with the Chill House being one of the best and only venues in the Fraser Valley to see punk rock shows for a reasonable price.
The relaxed atmosphere at the Chill House made Wednesday feel like the perfect day for leisure, with the show bringing together an exceptional selection of artists for those who love live music of all kinds.
This perfect lineup for the venue had a great selection of bands performing, from alternative to old-school laced punk. It was a show meant for more than just punks, and it brought together a crowd of all ages and all kinds to provide a sense of unity within the Chill House - which is something that is always refreshing to see in the Chilliwack community especially.
-------------------------------------------------
Blake Trouper opened the night off with an impressive solo act, with his unique performance style backing plenty of other 2 Litre Superpunk shows that have been ongoing as of late. His unique backing of the band creates something completely different and unexpected, and it adds a tinge of quirkiness to the punk scene that is not often delved into.
Hailing all the way from Edmonton, Alberta, Trouper performed a very bold set that was something deeply unique to the Chill House, with solo acts being quite rare to see at the venue. His bold choices and energy made for a great opener for the night, with the energy starting off strong and turning the show into yet another interesting night at the Chill House.
Immediately felt throughout the venue was Trouper's exceptionally kind energy, with his sound reverberating through the venue in an incredibly powerful and enjoyable way that made his performance skills clear within seconds of him hitting the stage. There was something refreshing about seeing such a unique soloist take the stage at the Chill House; especially with how uncommon solo performances are at the venue. 2026 has seen a lot more soloists taking the stage at the Chilliwack venue, with Trouper being one of many great examples.
Such a mellow, yet comedic and charming start to the night created a very different atmosphere in the venue, with this unique charm adding a quirky spin on the traditional punk show.
Trouper had a great voice that was mixed incredibly well, with the sound projection of the night doing his vocals even more of a favour while creating something that the Chill House has not seen in large doses before. His set was a great length and made sure to be engaging without running on for too long, and it set the tone for a very well-organized and enjoyable night that was all parts leisure and enjoyment.
The crowd interaction between Trouper and the audience at the Chill House was a wonderful thing to see, and he made sure to let the crowd feel involved with his set through various different remarks and shout-outs to the crowd members throughout.
Trouper's acoustic set was a delight to see, with a great energy and on-stage charisma engaging with the crowd and creating something that helped to level out the energy and make something new and exciting at the venue.

FateXY continued the night as another deeply unique band that brought something with a bit more texture to the stage before the punk madness of the night begun, with the female-fronted band being a great addition to the already varied lineup.
The large band lineup made for an incredibly layered sound, with the band's texture being incredibly enjoyable to listen to as they reverberated throughout the entire venue. The band's energy was incredibly fun to listen to, and their on-stage presence was something I have never seen in any other bands.
Never before have I seen such a layered band lineup before, with each member coming together to create something that had a unified and deeply enjoyable sound. The versatility of the band included multi-instrumentalists and hula-hooping on the stage; providing a unique and high energy before the two main acts of the night would take the stage and end the night off.
Being able to hear so many layers in the band's sound is something that you don't see very often, with their unique efforts making for a great last-minute addition to the show's lineup after one of the original bands had to remove themselves from the lineup prior to the show. This ensured that the show would still run smoothly while keeping the energy up - and it was exactly what the show needed.
A great palate of strong female vocals and layered backing from the members of the band ensured that FateXY's set would stay interesting and engaging for fans at the Chill House, with the vocal harmonies of the band coming together in a delightful way.
There were surprising elements of rap mixed in to the band's blended sound, with their punchy and captivating energy being an absolute treat to hear blaring throughout the entire Chill House.
Throughout their set, the band kept an upbeat and fun sound that was infectious to be around, with a great addition of sounds creating something that invested the crowd and brought even more unity to the venue; something that intimate shows like this one always present well.
Such a great pace alongside the band's unique lineup and multi-talented members made for an incredible set, and it was the best possible way to boost the energy of the venue up after a more mellow start to the night.
The band's alternative sound included unique instruments like synths and various other backing instrumental sounds, with the band working hard to showcase all of their skills at once. Having something so deeply alternative is a great way to drive a different crowd to typical punk shows; meaning that the shows have a bit of extra depth.
FateXY had one of the most truly unique live sounds that I have heard - and it was an exceptional addition to add a much more alternative and multi-layered band onto a punk lineup. The depth of the Wednesday show brought sounds that are rare to find to the Chill House stage; and FateXY were one of the highlights of the night.

The crowd was incredibly excited to see 2 Litre Superpunk take the stage, with their infectious sound being well-known, especially as the band has visited the Chill House once before all the way from Calgary.
Loud punk immediately started blaring throughout the Chill House as soon as the band took the stage, with their infectiously heavy energy blending different elements of punk and heavier subgenres together to create a nostalgia-filled set that was completely captivating for the band's entire time on the stage.
The band's great blend of clean and raw vocals was something incredibly surprising, with the unique elements of different sounds and blended musical styles creating something you don't often see, and the energy that was captured by every member of the band made their set even more spectacular.
Heavier moments drove the band's set into great territories, with the mix of upbeat and mosh-ready songs making the crowd engage with the band and give energy back into the venue in the best way imaginable. The infectiously high energy of the band was something wildly suitable to the Chill House, meaning that the crowd of regulars were seeing the style that they are the most used to in the most welcomed format possible.
2 Litre Superpunk were a band that succeeded to put me into a good mood, with their unique music keeping me moving while they presented a completely nonstop level of energy that was completely undefeatable. The band's resilience and clear precision for their sound is something that makes them an absolute must-see, and they made sure that the show would remain interesting and highly engaging at its core.
The biggest energy spike of the night was present while 2 Litre Superpunk performed their set, and this energy is exactly what the energy needed. Having a mid-week show is always a great way to drive a new crowd into the venue, and it allows those with busy weekends to come to shows at the Chill House when they are not usually able to.
Seeing the band working together as a group was exceptionally refreshing and fun to see, with their work showcasing a true sense of friendship and care for their craft. The band was visibly having a great time on stage - and it made their energy even more infectious.
Such incredible energy is something that bands can uplift people with exceptionally well - and 2 Litre Superpunk made sure to bring their bright and heavy sound to the Chill House for their entire set. It was an exceptional spectacle that set the stage perfectly for local legends Stolen Goods to take the stage, and there was no better slot in the lineup for the night than 2 Litre Superpunk.
-------------------------------------------------
Stolen Goods added the last lap to the night, with a local band being an absolute must in a lineup like the one we saw on Wednesday. What they brought to the stage was a set that was more than worthy and qualified to be a headlining spectacle, and they made sure to perform a much more longform set than usual that was more than welcomed in the space.
The band played a long headlining set that provided a great selection of material that helped to showcase the members and their individual traits and styles on and off the stage much better than an opening set would - although there's no wrong place when Stolen Goods is on the lineup of any show.
Despite performing as a three-piece band due to the personal life struggles of one of the band's other vocalists, Stolen Goods did not disappoint and yet again proved themselves to be incredibly fun to watch.
Within their set, the band used a great mix of different punk styles and subgenres to create something immersive and movable for the crowd, with an incredibly engaged audience paying close attention to what the band had in store to end the night off right with.
For over forty minutes of music, the high energy presented by Stolen Goods never once faltered. Their energy could be felt throughout the entire building as they played at the Chill House, and it was an incredible sight to be a part of. They're a band that no person should ever miss out on, and it's no wonder as to why they've gained such a big following in the Fraser Valley and surrounding areas.
The band's energy was applaudable, and the work that they brought to the stage included a great register of both new and familiar material that made Wednesday hold the record of one of the best sets that they have played at the Chill House so far. Such a great level of energy was marked by a set that felt completely personal and inviting in every way.
I would not be where I am today without Stolen Goods and their incredible support towards me and the scene, as they were one of the first bands I have ever covered and worked with doing videography and these show articles. I could not be working the job I have made for myself now without bands like Stolen Goods, and it truly was a treat to have been able to see them again.
Without any doubt in my mind, Stolen Goods are one of the best punk bands that the local Canadian music scene has to offer. Their innovative and blended sound pushes the envelope while being exactly what fans of old-school punk know, love, and miss dearly - and it always makes for an incredible and unforgettable show that you'll want to stick around for, with their Wednesday set continuing their incredible run of Chill House shows that I have been fortunate enough to attend.
-------------------------------------------------
It was great to have a mid-week Chill House spectacle that brought people together and provided an exceptional energy for the week, and the variety of bands meant that people of all kinds could experience great live music for a low price - and the memories made at the Chill House are truly priceless with each and every show.
Thank you to Jen and Tyler Ferguson for running the doors and keeping the space inclusive and welcoming while keeping everything organized and stable from the front of the building - and to their incredible energy for making the staff of the venue feel like family. A massive thanks to Tyler Ollenberger for keeping ownership of the venue and ensuring that the doors always stay open no matter the circumstances.
I appreciate both Stolen Goods and 2 Litre Superpunk for taking the time and effort to book with me for videography services, it is always so beyond appreciated and I am so happy to be expanding my portfolio and pursuing videography as what is becoming an almost full-time gig at the Chill House.
The biggest thank you goes out to the bands who came up and made the night possible by performing and giving their all into their performances. Each band made sure to put everything they could into the show - and it made for an exceptional experience that was truly unforgettable.
