New Release Friday: goreshit Brings the Rave on 'hybrid monster machines of the lesser spotted bastard'

GORESHIT: HYBRID MONSTER MACHINES OF THE LESSER SPOTTED BASTARD

SCORE: 90/100

Yet another long-awaited goreshit project has hit the new release calendar for 2026 - and this is an album that is even better than anyone could have expected it to be.

Despite what you might expect from a goreshit project, this isn't his usual mashcore style, this is an album that is built off of the old-school hardcore rave scene. 'hybrid monster machines of the lesser spotted bastard' is made up of material that goreshit had previously performed live, which was then recorded and mastered to be put into an album; three years into the making for a 30 minute album that manages to be one of his best, most coherent and matured projects.

This album showcases goreshit's technical abilities on a scale that has not yet been seen before - easily creating one of his best projects despite how long he has been in the scene for. It's an album that you MUST listen to from front to back to get the full experience - and it's an experience that you will surely want to have. It's heavy, packed full of floor-shaking bass, and immaculately mixed.

Not knowing what to expect from this album made it that much more exciting, as goreshit is an artist that has changed their sound more times than what is countable. His style is constantly changing, and getting to hear a mix put into an album of songs that were once only heard by a select set of people is something that showcases how much he truly cares about his craft.

The album is something that will make you feel like you are living it out, with a sound that immediately captures that gritty rave scene to a perfect degree. It's a near-impossible feeling to capture, but this album does just that. It's a love letter to the raving community, and it's something that works to fuel the old-school sound instead of trying to modernize what was once perfected already - the result is something that any fans of hardcore are sure to absolutely relish in.

The mixing of this album is something that only goreshit could pull off. It's chaotic while still being perfectly sequenced and delightfully suited for a warehouse-style rave, and it brings back something sacred and once lost to a more modern era; embracing tradition over mainstream appeal. It's a brand that works - and it's something uniquely goreshit.

Each song creates a consecutive mix, making something that is impossible to get away from. This is an album that is built off of an immersive atmosphere and style; and if you're a hardcore fan, you're sure to be hooked. Every element here is as good as it gets, and the formatting will leave you coming back for seconds.
