1983 is Joost's first "properly formatted album" when excluding Albino - as this is an album that contains various shifts in formatting and a deeply rooted sense of consistency that helped to establish Joost much better as a rapper when compared to his previous projects.

1983 is an electronic and media-influenced Pop Rap project that uses various styles and different production on every track to make for a fresh and exciting sound that is present within every song. Each and every song is memorable in its own right due to the variety in the production on the album, and the changing style while still keeping a consistency in Rap is an incredible feat that showcases how great of a rapper Joost was when he was much younger than he is today. 

Despite what most people may expect from a Joost album - this is not a Gabber album. It is instead a unique and deeply memorable Rap album that blends various different samples and production styles to create a deeply immersive and truly enjoyable album experience that is much more palatable than albums like Scandinavian Boy and Albino. 

This is an album where Joost's culture and influences shine through immensely, with a slightly electronic sound setting 1983 apart from other Trap/Rap albums. It's clear to see that Joost was further establishing his sound and coming out of his shell musically, and this helped for him to create a unique album that stays consistent and enjoyable throughout. 

It's a longer album when compared to the length of his previous projects, which showcased a great amount of depth and growth in his artistry through unique themes, concepts, and a definitive style that was unlike anything else he had done before while still keeping the elements that made him himself present throughout the entirety of the album. 

Although there are some weaker songs present throughout the 13-track runtime of the album - the songs that are good are truly great, and it makes for an album that is worth listening to from start to finish rather than simply skimming through the selections available.

The album goes by quickly based on enjoyment alone, and it's a project that makes sure to stick around through memorable and replayable sounds that will be kept in your head. This is an album that will leave you wanting to come back to listen to the songs again and again - and each track is something different from the last.

Hoewel er een paar zwakkere nummers op de 13 tracks tellende speelduur staan, zijn de goede nummers echt geweldig, waardoor het een album is dat de moeite waard is om van begin tot eind te beluisteren in plaats van er alleen maar doorheen te bladeren.

Het album is zo voorbij als je er puur van geniet, en het is een project dat je niet snel vergeet dankzij memorabele en herbeluisterbare nummers die in je hoofd blijven hangen. Dit is een album waarvan je de nummers steeds opnieuw wilt beluisteren – en elk nummer is weer anders dan het vorige.
