HOLD THE MUSTARD PRODUCTIONS: Learn About Wound Of Eden Before You Go
Wound of Eden are the next big hit out of Edmonton - and they are coming to the Chill House to support the second HEAVY METAL MANTINEE show hosted by Hold the Mustard.
Their sound is intense and heavy, with thrashing solos and a drive to create heavy, loud, and harsh music making the band another part of the show that you will not want to miss out on.
The five-piece are just getting started, and it's crucial that you keep a close watch on the band, as they are sure to be performing more intense shows very soon.
Sonically, the band has everything down perfectly - and they know what they're doing. Their selection of demos is extraordinary, and fans as well as newcomers are sure to be blown away by their material.
I was able to conduct an interview for the band, with the bassist telling me more about their sound, style, and practices ahead of their show at the Chill House this Sunday. They're an act you won't want to miss out on - and they're ready to bring the fire.
Don't miss out on reading never-seen-before material about the band below the cut!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q: First off, thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview! Let's start by getting to know you - what is your role in the band like?
A: You're welcome! We're more than honored to have this interview with you! So! In Wound of Eden, we each play a role in shaping the overall sound, but I handle bass and most of the sound engineering when it comes to our sound system and layout
Q: What can people come to expect from your show at the Chill House?
A: At the Chill House, people can expect a fun performance and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether it's their first show or not, they can enjoy the music, connect with others, and be part of the experience!
Q: What do you bring to the stage when you are performing?
A: When we play on stage, we bring a tight performance, and a strong connection with each other. We try to make each set worth the experience!
Q: What is the most important thing to you when it comes to putting on a killer live show?
A: The most important thing for us is making sure the crowd has a good time, have something to remember and be engaged from start to finish. A tight performance is all good however having a real connection with the audience is what makes a show memorable
Q: How did you start off, and where do you plan on going in the future?
A: We started off as random individuals all trying to find the right outlet for what we wanted to create. It all started when I put out an ad out with our guitar player... From there, everything came together naturally and Wound of Eden started to take shape. For the future.. we plan to take any opportunity possible to help us grow and network whether, that's traveling, playing more shows, reaching new audiences, or expanding our sound
Q: How would you describe your sound?
A: I would say our sound is a blend of different metal subgenres. When you have 5 individuals bringing in their own influences and ideas, it naturally comes together into something unique. The best is part surprising the crowd with how we make it work
Q: Whare are some of the best memories you have made along your musical journey?
A: Most of the best memories have come from simply going to shows, having get togethers and creating music.. especially in the younger days when everything was so fresh! Playing live and seeing people react, watching band members do crazy stunts.. all those things definitely brought in good memories
Q: What makes music so important to you?
A: Music is very important to us in a lot of ways, especially with all the types of genres and subgenres thats out there. It's one of the few things that keeps us grounded.. a way to express our grief and sorrow to moments of happiness.
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your music?
A: With our music we hope to continue growing and improving as a band, we also hope to reach as many people as we can playing in places we've never been before!
Q: Lastly, what is one piece of advice you would like to give to aspiring artists?
A: Surround yourself with people who support your growth.
