New Release Friday: femtanyl's Long Awaited Debut - 'MAN BITES DOG'

FEMTANYL: MAN BITES DOG
SCORE: 90/100

Despite being highly established in the digital hardcore scene for years prior to this album, femtanyl have finally made their official, full-length debut with MAN BITES DOG, one of the most infectiously harsh albums of the year without a doubt - it feels like a static shock straight to the head, and it's a clashing collage of sounds that project everything great about femtanyl on a much larger, more polished scale.

There's nothing mainstream about femtanyl, they're a completely uncharted duo full of clashing sounds and a massively unpredictable sound that blends and smashes together multiple genres into an electronic cluster - and it makes them one of the most striking duos on the market in the current age of music, with the sound of this album being immediately shocking and completely unrestricted. There is no fear of making music that is radio-friendly - it's an album full of insanely harsh soundscapes that are impossible to resist.

MAN BITES DOG is incredibly wild and loud - it's everything that the album should've been and then some, and this is a perfect album to go into entirely blind. Each song provides something different, using choppy vocals, harsh bass, and dance-laden grooves that are all equally as infectious and consistent with one another while still providing different soundscapes and forms of sonic elements across one another.

It's an album that is sharp as a blade and as potent as a flame, and every track is sure to send your head rattling.

Digital hardcore is a genre of fusion and tough rebellion - and this album marks one of the most importantly huge advancements in one of the most prominently developing genres of the 2020's. The genre has taken a massively different form in the modern day, and it is becoming much more respected and well known now despite being around for a very long while - with femtanyl being some of the biggest contributors towards this shift.

This is an album that is larger than words, and a sound this complex and harsh is impossible to describe with adequate justice and descriptors - it's something you truly have to hear to believe, and you won't be disappointed for even one second with this album; there isn't breathing room, just pure aggression.
