HOLD THE MUSTARD PRODUCTIONS: Old-School Metal Hits Chilliwack - Get to Know YEGG Before the Show

YEGG are bringing old-school death metal to a city near you, and their next stop is the Chill House in a show hosted by Hold the Mustard Productions alongside three other talented artists, with YEGG using a unique style that spans various different influences and sounds throughout their experienced roster. Their a band built off of skill and precision - and they are everything that a metal band should be in modern times while still staying true to a form that is considered old-school.

Their sound is equal parts brutal and pure expression, and they're a band that are uniquely themselves through all of their various influences that are used to push their music to new dimensions. The sound of YEGG is hugely captivating and immersive, and their style is something few other bands could do as well as they have.

Kyden McCormick, the band's guitarist and "head of the pack" was incredible enough to give detailed insight about the band and what people can come to expect from them, and you won't want to miss out on their show this weekend - it's bound to be an unforgettable night of relentless, headbanging metal music for all ages, and YEGG are just one of many talents that will be performing on the Chill House stage Saturday evening.

Q: What is your role in YEGG like? What is the most exciting part about it?
A: I am the guitar player of Yegg, I consider my role a lot like the band leader/manager, I do a lot because I'm passionate, it can be challenging  and chaotic but rewarding. Being invited to participate in exciting events is the best part.
Q: What inspires you musically?
A: Classic 80s and early 90s death metal, artists like Chuck Schuldiner, bands like Obituary, Carcass, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse.
Q: When did you start creating music and working in the metal scene?
A: Started creating music when I was about 10 years old, actively playing in bands and in the music scene when I turned 14, so about 25 years of experience.
Q: What are the ideas behind your sound?
A: Creating catchy memorable songs that are engaging for people who aren't musicians and exciting enough to keep the attention of people that are passionate about their instruments.
Q: What can people expect from your show at the Chill House?
A: Dangerous amount of body odour, chaos, headbanging, lots of energy and fun.
Q: What is your favourite part about performing?
A: Making the connection with the audience, meeting new musicians and travelling, crowd reactions. People going nuts.
Q: What is your least favourite part about performing?
A: Too many stairs and heavy bass cabs.
Q: Is there anything that you would consider as "defining" your sound or style? If so, why?
A: Regressive death metal, because we want to simplify how technical things have gotten and go back to writing fun, catchy songs that honour the old-school sound of death metal.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring musicians, what would it be?
A: Practice practice practice, become obsessed with what you do, get up there but always have fun with it, at the end of the day just do what you love.

Don't miss out on your exclusive chance to see YEGG this Saturday, and make sure to follow along with their musical journey for more incredible, slamming metal music that makes for a perfect homage to the bands that started it all!
