Skrillex and Boys Noize - Dog Blood's "Middle Finger" Saga

EP 1: NEXT ORDER/MIDDLE FINGER
SCORE: 83/100

One of the most insane possible supergroups (well.. more of a superduo) was born when Skrillex and Boys Noize collaborated under the alias of Dog Blood, a dynamic project where the two came together to make harsh, bouncy electronic music.

Mainly described as techno, Middle Finger is a mixed-genre single EP that does wonders to showcase how well Moore and Ridha work together, with their individual styles becoming one for the compositions of the EP. The sound of this project is wildly ahead of its time, and the fact that music this eclectic was being made in 2012 is beyond expectations; even for the high standards constantly being set by Skrillex.

This is the gritty, club heavy electronic music that any producer could strive to make, and the energy captured here is raw and full of all of the grit you could possibly want. It feels like a bashing ode to the darkly-lit warehouse raves of the 90's, but with a sound that could not be tied to any time period. It's somehow ahead of its time and perfect for the work of both producers involved

Anything you could think to expect from this project isn't what you'll get - and it's in the best way possible.

EP 2: MIDDLE FINGER PT.2
SCORE: 89/100
Even more energetic and bass-heavy than the first installation, the second "Middle Finger" EP adds rock influences and even heavier production to make an EP that somehow pushes the first out of the water despite the exceptional quality of the first issue.

There is much more variety within this EP than their debut, with this EP including remixes and three different tracks, including the style of their debut in an even more impressive and enjoyable format. The remixes aren't overbearing and provide new aspects to their biggest hit in formats that were completely unexpected, and the originality of this project is something you cannot let slip from your radar.
