Chilliwack Concerts: Lil GoDD Night Two at Chill House Studio Ends in Terror

Sunday at the Chill House was a night that ended in terror for the attendee's of Lil GoDD's second night at the venue, with a dangerous event leaving many left scared and confused inside of the building for some time before the situation had been dealt with.

Late night Sunday, an event happened where a drunken man was harassing different attendee's of the concert that night , ending in the man being beaten (this occurred far away from the venue, after the situation had been cleared) and the one who beat him being sent to a holding cell after being arrested. This was a terrifying experience for everyone involved, and it was a tragic end to a concert that was already suffering from yet another lack of regulation; this time with even worse crushing that almost led to a massive amount of injury for patrons. It was another night of chaos for the Chill House, but the staff were incredibly helpful despite the turn of events, creating a safe environment and preventing serious harm from occurring. Hectic situations were dealt with accordingly, and despite a slight lack of preparation, the community work from venue hosts and concert goers alike made the night a lot less tragic than it could have been.

The show itself was great despite another rowdy crowd with no consideration for others and their surroundings, but the people this time around were much nicer and much easier to be around despite a painfully excruciating wait in line and a late opening for doors. This time around there were extra openers, special guests, and a different lineup that made the show exciting and new, with the show itself running for a longer period of time and including more songs during Lil GoDD's headlining set.

Again, the Chill House managed to feel as busy as a Vancouver concert with the sheer energy and the amount of people who showed up - it was slightly less of a full house than the previous show on Friday, but it was still yet another incredible turnout for the show, and the gratitude showcased by Lil GoDD was refreshing to see on stage; with our view for his set being from the actual stage.

The show was made up of familiar faces, titled as a "Lil GoDD and friends show" by many of the performers, with his friends showing up to put on opening performances before the main event. Aiden and Shotty Millz were both performers again, with Shotty Millz being one of the best aspects of the night yet again.

Crowd interaction was a massive aspect of the show. With high fives and fist bumps being commonplace throughout the entire show from almost every performer. It was humble, but in a way where the energy was still high and the fans were very much so invigorated by the performance. The pit was rough, but it was something expected, especially after the mayhem brought along by the Friday night show.

Some of the material was the same as night one, but the variety brought on was still enough to keep the show refreshed enough to not feel like a complete repeat with some set differences and unique experiences creating a different atmosphere. There was much more confidence from performers, and a lively energy despite the amount of stress brought on by crowd mishaps.

Sunday's show felt even more invigorating and "real" than Friday, with an insane amount of energy, bustling crowds, and many different performers, the show was a mixed-genre mayhem that the people of Chilliwack are sure to remember. Despite some saddening incidents within the show, the overall experience was a lively night to remember with a highly amusing palate of songs.

  1. I didn't expect it to be worse than last time! But as long as everyone was safe and in one piece, it's all good ^^

    1. Honestly, not everyone was safe - me included as I got injured quite a few times, still feeling it even though it's Tuesday now. It was a brutal go for sure and I will be sticking to the metal shows.. surprisingly those are much tamer, probably due to smaller crowds... and metalheads actually having concert etiquette!

  2. Sucks when rowdy crowds (and pedos) have to ruin the experience for others. Glad that guy got a good beat down, was well deserved!
